Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between authoritarian parenting style and self-efficacy in junior high school students. The hypothesis put forward is that there is a negative relationship between authoritarian parenting and self-efficacy in junior high school students. The research design uses a correlational quantitative research method. This research was conducted with 234 students at SMP Negeri 37 Surabaya with an age range of 13-15 years. The instruments used in this study were the self-efficacy scale according to Bandura's theory (1997) and the authoritarian parenting scale according to Boyd & Bee's theory (2004). The data obtained were then analyzed using product moment analysis techniques with the help of SPSS 25 for Windows. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been done, it shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between authoritarian parenting and self-efficacy, so the hypothesis in this study is rejected. The rejection of the hypothesis in this study shows that authoritarian parenting has a positive relationship with selfefficacy. The higher the authoritarian parenting style, the higher the self-efficacy, and vice versa, the lower the authoritarian parenting style, the lower the student's selfefficacy..
