Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and selfacceptance in parents who have mentally retarded children. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive and significant relationship between social support and self-acceptance in parents who have mentally retarded children. The method in this research is quantitative by using purposive sampling technique. The subjects in this study were parents who had mentally retarded children. The data collection instrument uses a Likert scale. The research data was taken using a social support scale consisting of 28 items and a self-acceptance scale consisting of 28 items. The analysis used in this study was the product moment correlation test using SPSS version 16.0 and found a result of 0.579 with a significance of p = 0.000. This means that there is a positive relationship between social support variables and selfacceptance in parents who have mentally retarded children. The higher the social support received by parents, the higher the emergence. Keyword : Social Support, Self-Acceptance, Mentally Retardet
