Abstract
PT. Bogasari Flour Mills is the leading flour producer in Indonesia and is one of the national vital objects. The production process is one of the most important factors related to achieving company goals. Wheat flour production process is basically divided into three stages, namely screening, conditioning and milling. Along with the spread of global challenges related to the 4.0 industrial revolution, PT. Bogasari Flour Mills applies technological advances, namely by using sophisticated production machines to accelerate the production of wheat flour. The use of machines besides aiming to make it easier to achieve production targets also aims to optimize the wheat flour production process. Sifting or sifting is an important part of the stages in the flour production process because through this process the resulting flour will be graded so that it has homogeneous particle size characteristics and according to predetermined standards. In addition, optimal sieving will increase the extraction percentage of wheat into wheat flour. Sieving is done using the help of a sifter machine. This machine is one of the important machines because the product that has been milled by the roller will enter the sifter to homogenize the particle size as well as being used to measure the fineness of the material after grinding. The higher the capacity of the wheat to be processed, the more workload the machine will have. One thing that needs to be anticipated in the use of machines in the production process is a decrease in the performance of the sifter machine which can result in a decrease in the amount of product that should pass through the sieve to become tailings products. The standard set is 10%, if it exceeds it, the sieving is ineffective. So this sieving process is correlated with several company targets. Examples include: The relationship between tailings flour and Roll turnover and also the relationship to the energy used during the production process. Therefore the authors intend to evaluate the performance of the sifter mill B machine on the production of red badge flour at PT. Bogasari Flour Mills.
