Abstract
The increasing unemployment rate in Indonesia is an employment problem that needs to be addressed. As students who want to graduate, the thing that needs to be done to deal with these problems is to prepare themselves by planning a career in advance so that when they graduate students have a goal or field of work to be pursued.Readiness in choosing a quality career is determined by maturity in choosing a career. Career maturity is the extent to which individuals have acquired the knowledge and skills needed to make smart and realistic career choices. A person's career maturity can be influenced by various factors, one of which is the internal locus of control. Internal locus of control is the belief that the events experienced in each individual's life are determined by his own abilities and efforts. This study aims to determine the relationship between internal locus of control and career maturity in final year students. The independent variable in this study is the internal locus of control (X) and the dependent variable in this study is career maturity (Y). The subjects of this study were final year students from the Faculty of Psychology with a population of 2,030 students and a sample of 238 students obtained through the tables of Isaac and Michael. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Determination of the sample using quota sampling technique. Based on the product moment correlation test, the analysis results obtained reveal that there is a strong and significant positive correlation between internal locus of control and student career maturity.
