Abstract
Communication with other people is something that often happens in our daily life. Communication can occur anywhere and anytime, for example during formal conditions such as lectures or presentations in front of the class. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety in students. The design in this study uses quantitative. The participants in this study were 86 students from the Psychology faculty of the University of 17 August 1945 class 2018, 2019, 2020. Using the Accidental Sampling technique based on predetermined criteria. The results of this study found the hypothesis of a significant negative relationship on self-efficacy with public speaking anxiety in students. With a total coefficient value of -0.491 with a significance of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Suggestions for students are expected to be able to control their thoughts in a positive direction and be more confident in their abilities in order to reduce anxiety problems when speaking in public. For other researchers, it is recommended to use a larger population in order to get much better results. Parents are expected to be able to train their children to interact in public so that communication skills in children do not become passive.
