Abstract
The Elderly Integrated Service Post is a health service facility for the elderly that aims to improve public health, especially for the community whichis improved in order to improve the quality of life of the elderly through improving the health and social welfare of the elderly. Posyandu as a place toempower the elderly. Posyandu for the elderly can provide basic health services, especially preventive (disease prevention) and promotive (health promotion) for the elderly. With the Posyandu for the Elderly, it is hoped thatthe quality of life of the elderly can improve and the threat of disease severitywill decrease. The type of research used is qualitative research. The data obtained are the results of observations and interviews from posyandu cadresand the elderly. This study was to determine the role of the Elderly Posyandu inimproving Social Welfare. The author took the research location at the Sekar Melati Elderly Posyandu, Baratajaya Village, Surabaya City. The address is Jalan Ngagel Wasana 1 No 41, Baratajaya Village, Gubeng District, Surabaya City. Results Based on research conducted, the elderly have many health problems and really need more health services than young people. Health services for the elderly are accommodated through the elderly posyandu, where the elderly posyandu can help empower the elderly to achieve prosperity. To improve the welfare of the elderly, efforts to improve health through health checks need to be increased. In the activities of the elderly posyandu, additional budget is needed to reactivate the implementation of theposyandu activities for the elderly, and there is still a need for support from the family.
