Abstract
A fan often shows their support for idols in many ways, one of which is by buying merchandise. If this behavior of buying merchandise takes place excessively without consideration, then this behavior becomes consumptive. Consumptive behavior is defined as an effort to purchase goods and services in excess without rational considerations to achieve satisfaction. As for one of the factors that cause the emergence of consumptive behavior is self-control and the influence of celebrity worship. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between self- control and celebrity worship with the consumptive behavior of NCT fans. This study involved 110 youth fans of NCT Twitter and Instagram users with a population of 150. This study used a quantitative method with the type of correlation. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique and hypothesis testing using linear regression analysis and it’s shows that self-control has a significant relationship negative with consumptive behavior while celebrity worship has a significant positive relationship with consumptive behavior. Thus, it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study is accepted. Key Words: Consumptive Behavior, Self-Control, Celebrity Worship
