Abstract

CV. Wana Indo Raya which is located on Jl. Pasirian No.7, Besuk, Tempeh, Lumajang Regency is a wood processing industry with sengon as raw material that produces block board, plywood, veneer and processed small pieces of wood which are added with adhesive and pressed on a laminating machine called barecore. Total defects in the production process from November to December reached 9,179, so the company wants to improve quality control of its production so that it can be more focused and measurable and can meet production targets. The causes of defects in barecore are broken, loose, and repair/replace. To reduce the rate of product failure, improvements need to be made using the Five- M checklist. This study uses the seven tools method to control the quality of a product. Collecting data in this study using interviews, observation, literature study, and documentation. Steps taken through the DMAIC approach. The results after the repairs were carried out were a reduction of the total barecore production in November-December 2021 by 17.2%, after being carried out in January 2022 it became 12.5% and in February it became 9.8% of the total production.
