Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of workload, work stress, competence on job satisfaction and performance of Auditor at Inspektorat of East Java Province. This study uses a quantitative approach with Partial Least Square (PLS) based on empirical theory between the variables in this study, then data is collected by questionnaire instrument. The Population in this study is 70 Auditors with sampling technique using total sampling, which all members of the population become the research sample. The results of this study indicate that workload has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction, workload has a negative and significant effect on performance of Auditor, work stress has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction but has not positive significant on performance of Auditor, competence has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, competence has a positive and significant effect on performance of Auditor, job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on the performance of Auditor in Inspektorat of East Java Province. R Square value of job satisfaction shows 0,409 which means that workload, work stress, and competence are able to explain changes in the value of the Job Satisfaction variable of 40.9% while the remaining 59.1% is explained by other variables outside this research model. Furthermore, R square value of the construct of auditor performance shows 0,527 means that workload, job stress, competence, and job satisfaction can explain the variance of auditor performance by 52.7%, while the remaining 47.3% is explained by other variables outside this research model.
