Abstract

This study aimed to prove and analyze the influence of employee competency, individual characteristics, social support and anxiety on work motivation, work ethos and employee performance in village credit institutions in Bali province. The numbe of population was 8,221, employees of village credit institutions (LPD) in Bali Province. The number of samples was 450 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the aid of Amos statictical program version 24. The results proved that: 1). Competence has a negative and insignificant effect on work motivation of LPD employees in Bali Province. 2). Competence has a positive and significant effect on the work ethic of employees. 3). Competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. 4). Individual characteristics have a positive and significant effect on employee work motivation. 5). Individual characteristics have a negative and insignificant effect on the work ethic of employees. 6). Individual characteristics have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. 7). Social support has a negative and insignificant effect on employee work motivation. 8). Social support has a positive and significant effect on work ethic. 9). Social support has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. 10). Employee anxiety has a positive and significant effect on employee work motivation. 11). Employee anxiety has a positive and significant effect on employee work ethic. 12). Employee anxiety has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. 13). Work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. 14). Work ethic has a positive and significant effect on employee performance.
