Abstract

The development of digital communication cannot be separated from the existence of communication facilities in the form of gadgets and social media that can be accessed by all users. There are many positive things that can be obtained from all available facilities, but it cannot be denied that the phenomenon of verbal aggressiveness is often found on social media that becomes cyberbullying. Based on this phenomenon researchers suspect the emergence of verbal aggressiveness on social media is influenced by subjective well-being levels on social media. This study aims to determine whether subjective well-being has a relationship with verbal aggression, so that it can be a means of education for the users of social media. The study was conducted with a quantitative method using a scale of measurement of verbal aggressiveness and subjective well-being involves 100 respondents with a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman methode. The results of the study showed a correlation coefficient of -0,624 that it indicate that there is a strong negative relationship between subjective well-being and verbal aggressiveness. The higher the level of subjective well-being of a person, the lower the tendency of a person to do verbal aggressiveness on social media.
