Abstract

This study intend to determine the relationship between social support and worker classification with coping strategies for students who have multiple roles. The subjects of this research are students who are doing dual roles as workers, domiciled in Surabaya as many as 121 subjects. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires with non-random sampling. The correlation technique used to determine the relationship between the variables of Social Support, worker classification and Coping Strategy is Multiple Linear Regression (Multiple) with parametric statistics. The results of the study prove that (1) there is a significant relationship between social support and worker classification with coping strategies for students who have multiple roles (Rxy = 0.221, R2 = 0.049, p = 0.050); (2) there is a significant relationship between social support and coping strategies for students with multiple roles (beta = 0.166, t = 2.438, p = 0.008); (3) there is a nonsignificant relationship between worker classification and coping strategies for students who have multiple roles (beta = 0.256, t = 0.152, p = 0.879). This shows that the first and second hypotheses are accepted while the third hypothesis is rejected. Keywords: Social Support, worker classification, Coping Strategy
