Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence with the ability to solve problems (problem solving) on students working at the University August 17, 1945 Surabaya. Someone can solve problems if they are able to master the emotions that exist in individuals. To be someone who can do effective problem solving, individuals must be able to think systematically and logically at the same time. A thought that brings individuals to think positively to find a way out of the problem. This is problem solving. Emotional intelligence is the ability of individuals to accept, assess, manage, and control emotions in the process of problem arising. Where the higher the emotional intelligence of the individual, the higher the ability to solve the problem The subjects in this study were students who worked at the University of August 17, 1945 Surabaya. The number of participants in this study were 70 participants using a simple incidental sampling technique. Incidental Sampling is a sampling of members of the population by accident but in accordance with the target specifications. Correlation test is measured using Pearson Product moment correlation technique between variables (X) Emotional intelligence with variables (Y) Problem Solving this shows that there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence with problem solving so the hypothesis in this study was accepted.
