Abstract
Instagram is a well known social media in this era. A lot of people want to be famous in instagram and look narcissistic. The purpose of this research is to knowing the affiliation connection needed and self esteem with narcissistic tendencies on a female instagram user. This reseach using population in Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya with 100 co-eds for the total of subjects used. The data analysis in this research is using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS program version 21.0. The results of the analysis in this reseach showing that there is a connection between the needs of affiliation and self esteem with the correlation coefficient F of 7,833 at the level of significance (p)=0,001. Variable need affiliation (X1) with variable of narcissistic tendency (Y) correlation coefficient F 0,042 at significance level (p) = 0,001. This means that p <0.05 so that the variable needs affiliation (X1) with variable tendency narcissistic (Y) significant. The correlation coefficient between self esteem (X2) and narcissistic tendency variable (Y) indicates that the variable of affiliation need (X2) with the variable of narcissistic tendency (Y) yields a correlation coefficient F of 0.049 at significance level (p) = 0.001. This means p <0.05 meaning significant. This means that individuals who have the need for affiliation and self esteem is high then the narcissistic tendency will tend to be low.
