Abstract

Prosocial behavior is a voluntary action that is intended to help or benefit another person or group of individuals, regardless of whether the action has a value, does not have any impact or is even beneficial to the giver. One of the factors that cause prosocial behavior is interpersonal interaction, so that it can result in someone being less able to carry out prosocial behavior, both in the campus environment and in the general environment. This study was conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between interpersonal interactions and prosocial behavior in students. The research design used by the researcher is quantitative research with correlational techniques and the participants involved are Psychology students class 2018 at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya as many as 140 people from 215 population. Data analysis in this study uses non-parametric statistical techniques, namely the Spearman's Brown test with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 20 and the presence of a significant positive relationship means that the higher the interpersonal interaction score, the higher the prosocial behavior will be. Vice versa, the lower the score on the interpersonal interaction variable, the lower the score on the prosocial behavior variable. Keywords : Prosocial Behavior, Interpersonal Interaction, Student
