Abstract

This study aims to assess the performance of employees and provide advice and recommendations of the findings contained in PDAM Surya Sembada city of Surabaya. The human resources programs studied include: HR planning, recruitment, selection and placement, employee training and development, career planning and development, performance appraisal, compensation and remuneration, occupational safety and health, and termination of employment. This research is a qualitative descriptive research . Data collection methods used in this study are interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative data analysis by grouping them according to conditions, criteria, causes and consequences. Based on the results of research that has been analyzed as a whole can be concluded that program selection and placement, performance appraisal has not been run effectively. As for some weaknesses in PDAM Surya Sembada city of Surabaya is the company does not have document guide of selection and placement, performance appraisal objectives are not documented and socialized adequately, and the result of performance appraisal is not submitted to employees. Based on the findings in the study, then given some recommendations and suggestions that can be used in improvements improvement company in the future is PDAM Surya Sembada city of Surabaya should have document of selection and placement guidance, the purpose of performance appraisal at PDAM Surya Sembada city of Surabaya should be adequately documented and socialized so that employees can understand the purpose of the performance appraisal, and the results of its performance assessment are submitted to employees who are assessed as feedback so that employees can be motivated in improving the performance in the company.
