Abstract

Anxiety is a general mental disorder, namely feelings of worry about something that is not certain, such as that it will be difficult to get a job after graduating from college, anxiety in students when they will face the world of work later. Feelings of fear about something that is in the form of threats and difficulties that are actually unclear and unrealistic can endanger a person's welfare. This study aims to determine: the negative relationship between self-regulation and anxiety tendencies in final students at the Faculty of Psychology UNTAG Surabaya. The participants in this study were psychology students from UNTAG Surabaya, totaling 59 people. The research data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to subjects who met the characteristics of the participants. This study uses a quantitative approach to test the research hypothesis. The analysis technique uses the Spearman's Rho test by utilizing the assistance of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0 for windows program. The results of this study indicate that there is a very significant negative relationship between self-regulation and anxiety tendencies in final students, with a correlation coefficient value of = -0.441 with a significance value of p = 0.000 (< 0.01).
