Abstract

his study aims to determine the relationship of Self-Control and Introverted Personality Tendencies with Alcohol Drinking Behavior. Major hypothesis proposed is that there is a relationship between self-control and introverted personality tendencies with alcohol drinking behavior, while the minor hypothesis is (1) there is a negative relationship between self-control with alcohol drinking behavior; (2) there is a relationship between an introverted personality tendencies with alcohol drinking behavior. The subjects were individuals who behave drinking alcohol as many as 77 people in Sidoarjo. The technique used for sampling using purposive sampling techniques and snawball sampling. The data collection is done by using 3 scale which is a scale of self-control, scale introverted personality tendencies, and the scale of alcohol drinking behavior. Tests on the major hypothesis is done by using multiple regression analysis and showed a significant relationship between self-control and introverted personality tendencies with alcohol drinking behavior with F = 31.066; p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The test results of the first minor hypothesis obtained by value t = -7.915; p = 0.000 (p <0.05). Showed no significant correlation between the negative and self-control with alcohol drinking behavior, meaning that the higher the individual controls, the lower the alcohol drinking behavior and vice versa. The results of the second minor hypothesis testing using the Spearman rho shows no relationship between introverted personality tendencies with alcohol drinking behavior. This is indicated by the value of r = 0.115; p = 0321 (p> 0.05).
