Abstract

The study analyzed morphological process, especially compound noun in automotive terms. The writer adopts various perspectives on the morphology, word formation, and compound noun. Methodologically, the writer use the descriptive qualitative to conduct this research. For collecting the data, compound nouns are taken from Automotive dictionary. Then, the data arranged systematically in accordance with the classified problems of the study. In analyzing the data, the writer, first, presented compound noun found in Automotive and modification vehicle terms second, composing construction of the compound noun according to the rules. There are sixty (60) compound nouns, as the data, and are divide into four types of compound noun formed. This formation are Noun + Noun found forty seven (42) data compound nouns, Adjective + Noun found eleven (11) data compound nouns, . Through the meaning of each compound nouns and in relation with the terms Automotive, from data there are fifty three (53) headed compound nouns, and seven (7) headless compound nouns.
