Abstract

This study aims to design and build an Android-based financial recording and order management application tailored for micro, small, and medium enterprises, specifically the lontong business owned by Mr. Sutrisno. The main issues faced are the lack of a structured financial recording system and difficulties in managing customer orders. Employing the Personal Extreme Programming methodology, the application was developed iteratively to accommodate user needs through direct feedback at each stage. The application features two core modules: financial recording that covering income, expenses, and profit-and-loss reports, and order management, which streamlines the logging and organization of customer orders. In the development process, the application was tested using Black Box Testing methods to ensure all functionalities work as expected, and Usability Testing to assess ease of use by end users. Usability Testing involved 6 participants (including Bapak Sutrisno), where 100% of users rated the application interface as intuitive, 100% stated that the data input process was easy to understand, 100% rated the financial recording and profit-loss report features as most beneficial, 50% of respondents routinely used the statistics feature, and 83% stated they experienced no significant difficulties. UMUX-Lite test results reinforced these findings with an average score of 91.67 out of a 0-100 scale, indicating a very good level of usability. Besides improving digital literacy among MSME actors, this application is also expected to become a model for technology-based business management that can be adopted by other small business owners. This research provides a practical solution to the problems faced by Bapak Sutrisno while contributing to the development of Android-based MSME applications that are relevant, functional, and user-friendly.
