Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between job insecurity and work engagement with job satisfaction as a mediator in non-permanent employees in the East Java Provincial Government. Along with the increasing job uncertainty, especially for non-permanent employees, it is important to understand how these factors affect their level of job satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design, where data is collected through questionnaires distributed to non-permanent employees in a number of departments and agencies within the East Java Provincial Government. Data analysis in this study is used to test the research hypothesis where the data analysis technique uses Path Analysis Mediation Analysis with the help of JASP version 0.18.2.0. To test the direct and indirect relationship between the variables studied and the role of job satisfaction as a mediator. The results of the study indicate that job insecurity has a negative effect on job satisfaction, while work engagement has a positive effect on job satisfaction. In addition, job satisfaction is proven to act as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between job insecurity and work engagement with job satisfaction. These findings provide important insights for policy makers in the East Java Provincial Government to design programs that can reduce job uncertainty and increase work engagement in order to improve job satisfaction of non-permanent employees.
