Abstract
In the era of increasingly intense competition in the manufacturing industry, the raw material procurement process has become a crucial factor determining a company's operational efficiency. UD La-Riz Mebel, a furniture manufacturing company, faces problems in its procurement system, which is still conducted manually, often resulting in stock shortages (stockouts) and excessive inventory (overstock). These conditions lead to production delays, increased operational costs, and decreased customer satisfaction. This study aims to design a raw material procurement information system using the Waterfall model to improve the efficiency of the purchasing process. The research methodology includes observation, interviews, literature review, and system requirements analysis. The designed information system features supplier management, real-time stock monitoring, automated ordering, and integrated reporting. The results show that the proposed system can reduce procurement processing time by 80% (from 2.5 days to 0.5 days), decrease recording errors from 19% to 2%, reduce stockout frequency by 83%, and lower overstock costs by 79% with potential savings reaching Rp 62,450,000 per semester. System testing using black box testing methods demonstrated a 100% success rate from 20 test cases conducted, with user satisfaction reaching 94.6% based on User Acceptance Testing. The implementation of this system is expected to enhance the company's operational efficiency, reduce procurement costs, and assist management in making faster, more accurate, and well-informed decisions with an annual ROI of 257% and a payback period of only 3.4 months.
