Abstract

Noise is one of the dominant hazards in industrial environments, particularly in production areas that utilize high-intensity machinery. CV. Cipta Karya, as a wood- processing industry, operates several major machines such as sawmills, moulding machines, and CNC units that have the potential to generate noise levels exceeding the Threshold Limit Value (TLV) of 85 dB(A). This study aims to measure the noise levels in the production area, map their distribution, and evaluate the potential risks to workers. Noise measurements were conducted using a Sound Level Meter (SLM) in accordance with KEP-48/MENLH/1996 and SNI 8427:2017. Measurement points were determined using the grid-lines method to ensure evenly distributed and representative sampling. The collected noise data were then mapped using Golden Surfer software to produce contour maps and spatial visualizations of noise intensity.The results indicate that several measurement points, particularly in the Sawmill and Moulding areas, recorded the highest noise levels, reaching 97 dB(A), exceeding the established TLV. Meanwhile, the lowest level was recorded in the finished goods warehouse at 72 dB(A). The noise contour map identified red zones around production machines as high-risk areas. Workers in these zones are potentially exposed to excessive noise, which may lead to hearing impairment, fatigue, and communication barriers. This study recommends mitigation efforts through source, path, and receiver controls, including machine maintenance, installation of acoustic barriers, exposure time management, and the use of hearing protection devices.
