Abstract

Final-year students who are about to choose a career are not merely making a decision; they must also carefully consider it to avoid making mistakes that could impact their future. This study aims to investigate the relationship between grit and parental support on career decision-making among final year students. The study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The research subjects were 130 final-year students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using the Grit Scale, the Parental Support Scale, and the Career Decision-Making Scale. The data analysis technique used was multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis indicate a highly significant positive relationship between grit and parental support on career decision-making (p < 0.01) with a contribution of 13.1%. Partially, only parental support significantly influenced career decision-making, while grit did not show a significant influence. These findings emphasize the importance of parental support in helping students develop mature and focused career plans.
