Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between peer support and school climate with student well being in Vocational Diploma students. Student well being is the ability of students to carry out effectively and effectively in the school environment. Peer social support is support in the form of behavior or actions given by peers. School climate is everything that exists in the school environment that is felt and affects the behavior of individuals involved in school. The subjects in this study were 68 students of the Hang Tuah University Shipping Diploma Program. The data analysis technique uses multiple correlation analysis to see the relationship between a variable and another variable (partial correlation) with the help of SPSS. The results showed that the simultaneous correlation value of F was 18,751 with sig 0.000 (p < 0.001), meaning that there was a very significant relationship between peer social support and school climate with student welfare for Diploma Cruise students. There is a very significant positive relationship between peer support and student welfare for Vocational Diploma students (correlation coefficient += 4,447, with sig 0.000, p<0.01). There is no significant relationship between school climate and student well being for Vocational Diploma students (coefficient t = 0.250 sig 0.803, p>0.01). Based on the calculation of the effective contribution to the two independent variables, it is stated that peer social support has a more dominant relationship with the student well being variable, which is 35.22%, while the school climate relationship with the student well being variable is 1.35%.
