Abstract

Hydroponic techniques require precise management of fertilizer levels and water flow rates to ensure optimal plant growth. Manual management, which is still commonly practiced, can lead to nutrient imbalances, water waste, and inefficiencies. This research aims to develop an intelligent system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and fuzzy logic capable of automatically regulating pH and TDS levels in a Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic system. The methodology involves the use of pH, TDS, and ultrasonic sensors, as well as flow meters, integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller and the Blynk application. Sensor data is processed using fuzzy logic to generate outputs representing liquid volume (liters) and pump activation duration (seconds). The system is designed to automatically activate pH UP/DOWN and fertilizer pumps based on delta and error values ​​derived from pH and TDS parameters. Implementation results demonstrate that the system accurately maintains nutrient stability while reducing water and fertilizer waste. The system also enables real-time remote monitoring via a mobile application. Thus, the system is effective and adaptive in supporting sustainable hydroponic agriculture.
