Abstract
Permainan Keinginan dengan fokus pada transformasi psikologis karakter utama, Lucy Hart, dalam perjuangannya menjadi seorang ibu. Masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana fase-fase struktur naratif menurut teori Tzvetan Todorov membentuk ketegangan cerita dan perkembangan karakter, serta bagaimana Lucy mengalami transformasi identitasnya sebagai seorang ibu melalui pengalamannya dalam narasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan strukturalisme dan psikologis. Data dikumpulkan dari teks novel dan dianalisis dengan merujuk pada teori struktur naratif Todorov, teori matresence oleh Dr. Aurelie Athan, dan teori identitas naratif oleh Dan P. McAdams. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa struktur naratif lima tahap Todorov yaitu keseimbangan, gangguan, pengenalan, upaya perbaikan, dan keseimbangan baru membentuk alur perkembangan karakter Lucy secara bertahap. Gangguan terjadi ketika Lucy gagal mengadopsi Christopher karena kondisi ekonomi, yang memicu konflik batin dan dorongan untuk berubah. Her attempt to repair is seen in her participation in a competition that symbolizes her struggle as a mother to be. Matresence theory shows that Lucy experiences an emotional and identity transition towards motherhood, even though it is not yet legal. Meanwhile, through McAdams narrative identity theory, it is revealed that Lucy rewrites her life narrative from a past full of wounds to a story of love, hope and forgiveness. The conclusion of this research is that the narrative structure in The Wishing Game not only functions as a series of events, but also as a place for the emotional development and identity of the main character.
