Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productivity of heavy equipment in the Class B Aggregate Base Layer work of the continued road improvement project in the Kalibasau – Putri Nurah area, Gunung Tabur District, Berau Regency. The research uses a quantitative approach by comparing actual field productivity with planned productivity based on the Ministry of Public Works Regulation No. 28/PRT/M/2016. The results indicate a significant decrease in heavy equipment productivity. The actual productivity of the equipment is as follows: Wheel Loader at 51.62 m³/hour (a decrease of 63.4% from the planned 141.1 m³/hour), 8 m³ Dump Truck at 8.3 m³/hour (a decrease of 38.44% from the planned 13.48 m³/hour), Motor Grader at 654.55 m³/hour (a decrease of 37.38% from the planned 1,044.71 m³/hour), and Vibratory Roller at 25.4 m³/hour (a decrease of 75.27% from the planned 102.70 m³/hour). This decline is caused by various factors such as idle time, operator efficiency, coordination between equipment, and site conditions. These discrepancies highlight the need for technical and managerial evaluations in planning and executing future projects to optimize time and cost efficiency.
