Abstract

Delays in material distribution are a crucial factor that can affect the efficiency of construction project implementation, especially in remote areas such as Kutai Barat Regency. This study aims to analyze the impact of material distribution delays on project costs and profits in the Livable House Handling (RLH) project. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach through simulations comparing normal project conditions with scenarios involving material distribution delays of 1 to 3 hours per day. The analysis results show that under normal conditions, the project cost is IDR 571,693,587.77 (excluding VAT), with a profit of IDR 57,169,358.78 (10%). However, when material distribution delays occur, the cost increases to IDR 588,841,648.23 (+3%) for a 1-hour delay, IDR 611,813,734.41 (+7.01%) for 2 hours, and IDR 643,961,441.36 (+12.63%) for 3 hours. As a result, project profit decreases significantly to IDR 40,021,298.32 (1 hour), IDR 17,049,212.14 (2 hours), and even turns into a loss of IDR 15,098,494.81 for a 3-hour delay. These findings confirm that delays in material distribution are directly proportional to increased costs and reduced profit margins. Therefore, efficient material distribution management is a vital aspect of ensuring the success of government-funded construction projects.
