Abstract

Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) merupakan salah satu teknologi pengangkatan buatan yang banyak digunakan dalam industri perminyakan untuk meningkatkan produksi minyak mentah. Di platform offshore PHE-38B PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore, sistem ESP bekerja dalam lingkungan ekstrem yang sarat risiko termasuk potensi terjadinya bahaya arc flash. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem kelistrikan pada ESP, khususnya terkait pengaturan kecepatan motor menggunakan Variable Speed Drive (VSD) serta evaluasi sistem proteksi terhadap kejadian overload dan hubung singkat. Metode penelitian melibatkan studi literatur, pengumpulan data teknis lapangan, serta simulasi sistem menggunakan perangkat lunak ETAP. Analisis dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai arus gangguan, arus arcing, dan energi insiden arc flash untuk menilai tingkat bahaya serta efektivitas koordinasi proteksi yang diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem proteksi eksisting perlu penyesuaian setting overcurrent relay untuk memastikan waktu pemutusan gangguan yang lebih cepat, sehingga dapat menurunkan tingkat energi arc flash ke dalam kategori aman sesuai standar NFPA 70E. Selain itu, optimasi pengaturan frekuensi VSD juga mendukung kestabilan operasional motor dan efisiensi daya. Kesimpulannya, penerapan strategi proteksi berbasis analisis teknis dan simulasi mampu meningkatkan keselamatan kerja dan keandalan sistem kelistrikan pada unit ESP di lingkungan offshore yang berisiko tinggi.
