Abstract
PT. Indoprima Gemilang Engineering merupakan perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak di bidang produksi klip komponen suspensi otomotif. Dalam menjalankan aktivitas produksinya, perusahaan mengutamakan kualitas produk dan tingkat produktivitas yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi menggunakan Data Overall Equipment Effisieness (OEE) dan analisis fishbone diagram, telah ditemukan faktor penyebab utamanya permasalahan dalam proses produksi adalah lamanya waktu set up changeover pada mesin press di divisi produksi, dengan durasi mencapai 3126 detik untuk satu kali changeover. Proses ini menyebabkan tingginya waktu henti mesin dan menurunkan efisiensi produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penyebab lamanya proses set up changeover dan mengusulkan perbaikan menggunakan metode Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) dan Value Stream Mapping (VSM) sebagai pembanding. Dan dengan menerapkan metode SMED, sebanyak 21 aktivitas internal berhasil dikurangi menjadi 16 aktivitas internal melalui konversi aktivitas internal menjadi eksternal dan penyederhanaan proses. Dengan menggunakan metode SMED, waktu set up berhasil diturunkan dari 3126 detik menjadi 2821 detik atau mengalami pengurangan sebesar 10%, Sehingga mampu meningkatkan waktu produktivitas.
