Abstract

The problem that often arises is disease in cats, where in a large number of cats, the death rate is quite high. Therefore, one approach to reducing the death rate is to carry out early detection using technology, utilizing the forward chaining method as a way to track disease symptoms. With this method, the system can make decisions or draw conclusions based on visible symptoms, which are taken as information from the veterinarian. The result of this research is the development of an expert system to diagnose diseases in cats using the forward-chaining method. The process of designing and building a system involves several tools, such as PHP, MySQL, and Use Case. The system testing carried out by researchers used usability testing, which involved 30 respondents with quite high suitability. The results of building this expert system obtained an accuracy level of 100%, which means this system is suitable for use to diagnose cat diseases because it can save time, energy, and costs. It has an accuracy level of 100% and received a score of 79.25% from 30 respondents.
