Abstract
This study focuses on the role of gratitude as a moderator in the relationship between religiosity and intention to stay among coal miners. This study involved 153 employees from PT Cipta Kridatama MHU located in East Kalimantan. The SEM analysis (Structural equation modelling) showed a weak correlation between religiosity and intention to stay. The correlation between gratitude and intention to stay also shows a weak value. This indicates that the relationship between religiosity and gratitude on intention to stay may occur by chance and is difficult to generalise. Furthermore, analyses show that the relationship between religiosity and gratitude has a high and statistically significant correlation. The role of gratitude as a mediator variable is also analysed. It was found that gratitude was a link between religiosity and intention to persist with a moderate correlation value. However, this value was also not significant.
