Abstract
Gunungsari Village in Dawarblandong District, Mojokerto Regency, relies heavily on agriculture as its primary economic sector. Of the total area of 468 hectares, approximately 168 hectares are active rice fields, including both community-owned land and land managed under Perhutani. The cropping pattern includes rice and maize cultivated alternately during the first and second planting seasons, depending on rainfall and the availability of irrigation. During the dry season, reliance on chemical fertilizers and water pumps increases, leading to higher operational costs. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of simulated scenarios of soil pH improvement and pesticide efficiency in enhancing cost efficiency and profitability of sustainable agricultural systems, using the triple bottom line approach (people, planet, profit). The methodology combines SmartPLS for identifying key sustainability factors with system dynamics modeling using STELLA software to simulate policy scenarios. The results show that soil pH is the most influential factor in agricultural sustainability, contributing 44%. Raising soil pH from 5.97 to 6.80 through liming and organic matter application significantly reduces dependence on chemical fertilizers, particularly urea. This leads to a decrease in operational costs by 5.36% to 7.04%, and profit increases by 12.91% (Rice MT 1), 10.27% (Rice MT 2), 14.65% (Maize MT 1), and 13.83% (Maize MT 2). Pesticide efficiency simulations (20–80% reduction) successfully lower production costs without reducing yield, supporting environmentally friendly practices. The model illustrates systemic linkages across social, environmental, and economic dimensions, serving as a basis for data-driven policy formulation.
