Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara orientasi masa depan dengan kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Surabaya. Orientasi masa depan mengacu pada sejauh mana individu mampu menetapkan tujuan, harapan, dan strategi untuk mencapai masa depan yang diinginkan, sementara kesiapan kerja mencerminkan kemampuan, keterampilan, dan sikap individu dalam menghadapi tuntutan dunia kerja secara profesional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik pengambilan sampel accidental sampling. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 311 mahasiswa tingkat akhir dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Surabaya. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala orientasi masa depan berdasarkan teori Seginer (2002) dan skala kesiapan kerja berdasarkan teori Caballero & Walker (2010). Teknik analisis data menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara orientasi masa depan dan kesiapan kerja (r = 0,638; p < 0,01). Artinya, semakin tinggi orientasi masa depan yang dimiliki mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat kesiapan kerjanya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa orientasi masa depan merupakan faktor penting yang berkontribusi terhadap kesiapan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi dunia kerja, sehingga dapat menjadi pertimbangan dalam pengembangan program pembinaan karir di perguruan tinggi.
