Abstract

Pendidikan tinggi merupakan upaya terencana untuk membantu mahasiswa mengembangkan potensi diri secara optimal. Namun, mahasiswa program magister sering menghadapi tantangan kompleks, seperti penyelesaian tesis, tuntutan akademik, tekanan sosial, dan hambatan internal, yang dapat memicu stres akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara self-management dan problem-focused coping dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa magister psikologi profesi di Surabaya. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan sampel sebanyak 92 mahasiswa Magister Psikologi Profesi Di Surabaya. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tiga skala pengukuran, yaitu skala stres akademik, skala self management, dan skala problem-focused coping, yang diukur menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-management dan problem-focused coping memiliki hubungan simultan dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa Magister Psikologi Profesi. Artinya, kedua variabel independen tersebut self-management dan problem-focused coping saling berkontribusi atau berhubungan dalam menentukan bagaimana mahasiswa menghadapi tekanan akademik. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self-management dan stres akademik. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin rendah kemampuan self management semakin tinggi stres akademik yang dialami mahasiswa, serta menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara problem-focused coping dan stres akademik. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin rendah kemampuan problem-focused coping, semakin tinggi stres akademik yang dialami mahasiswa.
