Abstract
A packaging machine is a device designed to perform packaging tasks in an industrial process. The primary goal of designing this packaging machine is to enhance the speed, accuracy, and energy efficiency of animal feed packaging. The working principle of the machine involves a measuring system that moves back and forth continuously, adjusting the volume based on the type of animal feed being packaged. This system helps shorten the packaging process and improve accuracy.The research method used is experimental, which involves constructing the machine and conducting direct functional tests to determine the accuracy of the measuring mechanism by comparing its output with readings from a digital scale. The design of the animal feed packaging machine incorporates a measuring system housed in a tank with dimensions of 1000 mm in height, 1030 mm in length, and 500 mm in width. The measuring mechanism is made of 1 mm thick stainless steel 202. The frame is constructed from hollow iron in various sizes: 2 × 2, 3 × 3, and 4 × 4 cm, also with a thickness of 1 mm. The machine is powered by a ¾ HP single-phase motor with a rotational speed of 1400 RPM, using a 65 mm diameter motor pulley and a 200 mm diameter gearbox pulley. It employs a type A belt with a width of 12.5 mm, a height of 9 mm, and a length of 2000 mm. The shaft has a diameter of 20 mm and a length of 50 mm. The system uses a WPO 70 Type L gearbox with a reduction ratio of 1:30, producing an output speed of 15.25 RPM. The measuring variation is adjusted based on the material's density.
