Abstract

Blitar is an active food-producing district in East Java Province. One of the sub-districts contributing to food production is Talun, particularly the villages of Bendosewu and Kaweron. The majority of farmers in these two villages grow rice, corn, and chili peppers. As the population increases, the demand for food will also rise, posing a challenge for the future. Sustainable food security can apply the Triple Bottom Line theory (People, Planet, Profit). This study aims to explore the factors affecting sustainable food security by analyzing these factors using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. In Bendosewu Village, the dominant factors are technology adaptation (40%), age (32%), type of fertilizer (63%), and type of corn seed (14%). Meanwhile, the most influential factors in Kaweron Village include education (53%), technology adaptation (24%), type of fertilizer (59%), and pest levels (11%). These food security factors will be used to create a dynamic model with Stella. The dynamic system will simulate the optimal scenario to increase farmers' profits. In Bendosewu Village, the use of organic liquid fertilizer and biosaka elicitor increases profit by 18.654%, amounting to Rp.29,715,952 per hectare. The combination of technology adaptation, age, type of fertilizer, and seeds increases profit by 26.946%, amounting to Rp.42,925,174 per hectare. Meanwhile, in Kaweron Village, the use of owls to control rat pests increases profit by 18.698%, amounting to Rp.23,255,838 per hectare. The combined scenario of education, technology, fertilizer, and pests increases profit by 26.281%, amounting to Rp.32,686,767 per hectare. In Bendosewu Village, the main risk is related to errors in using organic fertilizer, which can lead to resource wastage and suboptimal results. Additionally, farmers' reluctance to switch from chemical fertilizers to organic fertilizers is a significant challenge. To address this, the study suggests intensive training, education, and effective monitoring as mitigation steps. In Kaweron Village, the risk of controlling rat pests includes the possibility of rapid rat population growth, damage to owl houses, and a decline in owl populations due to external factors. Mitigation measures include regular monitoring, routine maintenance of owl houses, and maintaining owl habitats to support their survival.
