Abstract
This research was conducted at the company UD KS Pro, which is engaged in the production of automotive components and is facing problems in raw materials in the form of iron plates and pipes. The problems that arise are shortages and excesses of raw materials. The main objective of this study is to design a planning and control system for raw materials for baste products, motorcycle handlebars, and motorcycle standards in order to reduce inventory costs. The methods used in this study are Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and forecasting methods such as Moving Average, Weighted Moving Average, and Exponential Smoothing. The calculation of lot size is carried out using the Lot for Lot (LFL) and Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ) approaches. The results of the analysis show that the LFL method produces a total cost of Rp 2,634,000, while the FOQ method is Rp 8,964,517, which indicates that the LFL approach is more optimal in terms of raw material cost efficiency.
