Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Break Even Point (BEP) for FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester/Biodiesel) transportation fleets in a logistics vehicle rental company. The LCC analysis evaluates the total cost incurred from the acquisition to the end of the useful life of the fleet, based on different combinations of truck heads and tank types. The results show that the pairing of new truck heads and new tanks has the lowest LCC value of IDR 1,808,880,120, while the pairing of old truck heads and medium-aged tanks has the highest LCC value, amounting to IDR 2,438,871,340. These findings serve as a strategic consideration for the company in making decisions regarding fleet procurement and maintenance to ensure long-term cost efficiency. Furthermore, this study also analyzes the Break Even Point (BEP) of transport fleets by comparing existing tariffs with ideal tariffs. The results reveal significant differences in the number of trips required to reach BEP, particularly for fleet code W, which shows a gap of 193 trips per year. Even fleets with smaller differences, such as code II, demonstrate potential efficiency improvements. Adjusting tariffs toward ideal levels effectively reduces the number of trips needed to reach BEP. This indicates that tariff adjustments can enhance fleet operational efficiency and should be considered as a basis for future tariff planning and decision making processes.
