Abstract

This study was designed to evaluate the effects of mindfulness training on emotional management in high school students at SMA X Bojonegoro. Mindfulness is a technique that focuses on attention in the present moment without judgment. Through this technique, individuals can recognize their emotions and respond to them in a more peaceful and situational manner. The research was designed as an experiment with two groups: an experimental group that received self-awareness training and a control group. Data from 14 students with low emotional regulation were collected using a 37-item emotional regulation scale based on Gross's model of emotional regulation (2007). The data obtained indicate that self-awareness training can significantly improve emotional management skills in the experimental group, as shown by the differences between scores before and after the training. Specifically, these results highlight the relevance of self-awareness as a tool to help teenagers regulate their emotions without altering their levels of awareness or situational understanding. Therefore, these findings will aid in developing effective programs by incorporating self-awareness as a key technique.
