Abstract
Clean water is a fundamental need for life and economic activities, requiring proper management to ensure its availability and quality. The IPAM Ngagel Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Surabaya treats raw water from the Surabaya River through coagulation using Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) and disinfection with chlorine. This study analyzes daily data from Ngagel I, 11, and Ill—including production volume, chemical usage (PAC and chlorine), and process waste 10% of production to estimate raw material requirements by the end Of 2025. The average clean water production reaches 4,480.03 L/second, with PAC dosages ranging from 25.28 to 114.55 mg/L and chlorine from 0.96 to 5.72 mg/L. PAC requirements vary between 11,709.02 and 53,861.47 kg, while chlorine ranges from 468.36 to 2,810.16 kg. Safety stock and reorder points at Ngagel I are 18,480 kg for PAC and 686 kg for chlorine; at Ngagel 11, 7,840 kg for PAC and 288 kg for chlorine; and at Ngagel Ill, 19,012.5 kg for PAC and 840 kg for chlorine. Based on PAC needs over a 3-day period and chlorine over 7 days, Ngagel I requires kg of PAC and 3.000-3.750 kg of chlorine. Ngagel 11 requires 21,500—25,500 kg of PAC and I ,600 kg of chlorine and Ngagel 111 needs 40,000-60,000 kg of PAC and 3,900-5,400 kg of chlorine.
