Abstract

Peningkatan volume limbah plastik, khususnya jenis Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), menjadi tantangan serius dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemanfaatan limbah plastik LDPE sebagai bahan tambah dalam campuran Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) dengan menggunakan aspal modifikasi PG 70. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana LDPE dapat berfungsi sebagai substitusi sebagian aspal serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap peningkatan performa lapisan perkerasan jalan. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi kadar limbah plastik LDPE sebesar 0%, 2%, 4%, dan 6% terhadap berat aspal. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan LDPE dapat meningkatkan nilai stabilitas dan Marshall Quotient (MQ), serta memperbaiki karakteristik mekanis campuran aspal. Nilai Kadar Aspal Optimum (KAO) diperoleh melalui analisis grafik berdasarkan parameter-parameter uji Marshall. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar parameter telah memenuhi spesifikasi teknis berdasarkan Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018 (Revisi 2), termasuk titik nyala yang melebihi batas minimum ≥ 230°C. Berdasarkan evaluasi terhadap berbagai kadar aspal dan parameter Marshall, kadar aspal optimum (KAO) untuk campuran AC-WC yang dimodifikasi limbah plastik LDPE ditetapkan sebesar 5,75%. Pada kadar limbah plastik 2%, campuran menunjukkan performa terbaik, dengan stabilitas tinggi, flow dalam batas standar, kadar VIM ideal, serta nilai VMA dan VFB yang mendukung ketahanan perkerasan. Oleh karena itu, komposisi ini dinilai paling tepat untuk menghasilkan campuran aspal berkinerja tinggi pada konstruksi jalan.
