Abstract
Beauty standards are a phenomenon that has long been a part of early human history. The difference between general beauty standards and albino women's beauty lies in social perceptions of skin color and other physical characteristics. Researchers took 3 scenes from a total of 48 scenes in 2 video reels featuring Gaby for further analysis. This research uses a qualitative method with a semiotic analysis approach. This data collection is done by observation and documentation. The data analysis method used is Roland Barthes' semiotic method. Data validity in this study uses the source triangulation method. The results of this study indicate that albino women in video reels on the @vaseline Instagram account are portrayed as active, confident and independent women. In the denotation meaning displays an albinism woman who looks natural without makeup. She appears confident by conveying the narrative that honestly being an albino is quite challenging. The connotation meaning explains that the woman shows self-acceptance and shows courage in presenting her authentic identity. In this myth, the beauty of albino women is constructed to have equal potential with other women, if they have accepted themselves by appearing confident in the public space. The presence of albino women can open up space for social acceptance and can have the potential to form new stereotypes, bye seeing albino women as someone who is unique and has beauty equal to other women.
