Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between assertiveness and social support with the tendency of PTSD in dating women in Surabaya City. This study involved 200 female respondents aged 18-24 years and currently in a dating relationship in Surabaya City. Data were collected using Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) scale, assertiveness scale, and social support scale. The research data have been tested for assumptions using normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests and data analysis techniques using parametric statistics with multiple regression models. The results show a simultaneous analysis between assertiveness and social support with the tendency of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in dating women has a very significant relationship with a value of 0.082 with a significance level of 0.000 (P <0.05). This means that the higher the assertiveness and social support possessed by individuals will be able to reduce the tendency of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Partial analysis between assertiveness and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) tendency in dating women, found that there is a significant relationship with a correlation coefficient value of -0.248 with a significance level of 0.031 (P <0.05). This means that the higher the assertiveness of a person will reduce the intensity of PTSD tendencies in dating women and vice versa. The results of partial analysis between social support and the tendency of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in dating women found there was a significant relationship with a correlation coefficient value of -0.245 with a significance level of 0.039 (P <0.05). This means that the higher the social support a person has, the lower the intensity of PTSD tendencies in dating women and vice versa.
