Abstract

The research with the title Framing Analysis of Child Murder Reports (Study of Celebrity Children Tamara Tyasmara in Tribunnews.com Media March 2024 Edition) aims to find out how news of child murders is framed by Tribunnews.com media. The theory used in this research is the Framing Analysis Theory put forward by Zhongdang Pan and Kosicki. Data collection was carried out through observation and literature study. The result of this research is that Tribunnews.com's media coverage of the child murder case experienced by Dante was framed by focusing on the suspect, or more precisely, it was more incriminating to the suspect. This can be seen from the structure of the news which begins with a discussion of the police revealing the results of the lie test for Dante's murder, lies about CCTV and violence, there are 2 suspect lies. These three stories have significant similarities, namely that in these three stories the journalists did not include clarification or interview results from the suspect, thus making these three stories unbalanced and of course contrary to the journalistic code of ethics article 3 which states "Indonesian journalists always test information, report in a balanced manner, do not mix facts and judgmental opinions, and apply the principle of presumption of innocence”.
