Abstract
In carrying out its duties and functions, SNVT PJSA Brantas faces the phenomenon of unequal participation in training or education among employees, which affects their competency levels. This discrepancy in skill levels and understanding among employees impacts overall performance. Competent human resources are essential to support the tasks and functions of each work unit. Apart from competency, SNVT PJSA Brantas, tasked with constructing infrastructure in the water resources sector, requires a high work ethic. Construction work schedules are based on calendar days, whereas employees work Monday to Friday. Additionally, employees assigned to supervise construction work often extend their hours beyond the institutional working hours, which are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Performance evaluation is mainly used as a tool for administrative purposes, focusing on past performance. The purpose of this study is to prove and analyze the significance of the following: the significant influence of competency on the performance of non-civil servant employees at SNVT PJSA Brantas in Surabaya; the significant influence of work ethic on the performance of non-civil servant employees at SNVT PJSA Brantas in Surabaya; the significant influence of performance appraisal on the performance of non-civil servant employees at SNVT PJSA Brantas in Surabaya; the simultaneous significant influence of competency, work ethic, and performance appraisal on the performance of non-civil servant employees at SNVT PJSA Brantas in Surabaya. The research sample consists of 64 non-civil servant employees at SNVT PJSA Brantas. Data analysis is conducted using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that competency has a significant influence on the performance of SNVT PJSA Brantas employees in Surabaya; work ethic has a significant influence on the performance of SNVT PJSA Brantas employees in Surabaya; performance appraisal has a significant influence on the performance of SNVT PJSA Brantas employees in Surabaya; and competency, work ethic, and performance appraisal collectively have a significant influence on the performance of SNVT PJSA Brantas employees in Surabaya.
