Abstract
Tujuan penelitian yang ingin dicapai sesuai dengan rumusan masalah yang telah dipaparkan yaitu untuk mengetahui, menganalisis dan menjawab bagaimana hasil prediksi potensi financial distress berupa kebangkrutan pada PT. Timah Tbk selama periode 2020-2023 dan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil antara model Springate dan Zmijewski dalam memprediksi potensi kebangkrutan. Dalam pelaksanaannya, penelitian ini mengambil data sekunder yang diperoleh dari sumber data primer yang akan diolah dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 4 data laporan keuangan tahunan PT. Timah Tbk yakni tahun 2020-2023. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode studi dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yang diperoleh dan dikumpulkan melalui website resmi Bursa Efek Indonesia dan website perusahaan. Teknik analisis yang digunakan untuk pengujian hipotesisnya adalah Uji Paired Sample t-test untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan signifikan antara kedua model prediksi kebangkrutan, sedangkan teknik MDA (Multiple Discriminant Analysis) dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hasil skor prediksi kebangkrutan dari masing-masing model. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Springate memprediksi bahwa pada PT. Timah Tbk terdapat 2 data laporan keuangan tahunan yang memiliki potensi kebangkrutan, dan 2 data laporan keuangan tahunan lainnya memprediksi kondisi keuangan yang sehat, sementara Zmijewski memprediksi bahwa tidak ada potensi kebangkrutan yang akan dialami oleh PT. Timah Tbk selama periode 2020 hingga 2023. Kemudian, hasil lainnya menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara model Springate dan Zmijewski dalam memprediksi potensi financial distress berupa kebangkrutan.
