Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between self-efficacy and learning motivation and adjustment in new students who have migrated to Surabaya. The method used in this research is quantitative research. The population in this study were new students in the early adulthood age group, namely 18-21 years who did not come from the Surabaya and Kertasusila gate areas (Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Lamongan). Participants in this research were 114 teenagers who were determined to use the G-Power application. The data collection instrument uses a Likert scale, namely the self-efficacy scale, learning motivation scale and self-adjustment scale. Data analysis used in this research uses a non- parametric technique, namely Spearman Rho. By testing each of the independent variables with the dependent variable. The results of the correlation analysis between self-efficacy and self-adjustment produce a correlation coefficient value (r) = 0.252 with p = 0.007 < 0.05, which means there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy and self-adjustment, while the results of the correlation analysis between learning motivation and self-adjustment produce Correlation coefficient value (r) = -0.340 with p = 0.001<0.05 which means there is a negative relationship between learning motivation and self-adjustment. These results show that there is relationship between self-efficacy and learning motivation and adjustment in new students who have migrated to Surabaya. It can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed in this research is accepted.
