Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Capital Structure and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) on Financial Performance through Financial Distress as an intervening variable in food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2023 Period. The population in this study are food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2023 Period. The sample in this study was determined using purposive sampling technique, namely a total of 100 samples. The analysis method used in this research is the path analysis method using SmartPLS 2.0. The results of this study prove that Capital Structure has a significant effect on Financial Distress, Good Corporate Governance has a significant effect on Financial Distress, Capital Structure has an insignificant effect on Financial Performance, Good Corporate Governance has an insignificant effect on Financial Performance, Financial Distress has a significant effect on Financial Performance, Financial Distress plays a significant role as an intervening variable in the relationship between Capital Structure and Financial Performance, Financial Distress plays a significant role as an intervening variable in the relationship between Good Corporate Governance and Financial Performance.
